🥯 Our Story:
It all started, as so many things did, during COVID. I (Sofia) dove into the world of sourdough baking, along with what seems like everyone else. But, the passion stuck! Since then, I’ve been baking at least two loaves a week, always experimenting with new recipes.
When my two boys, Enzo and Rio, came along, our kitchen became a place for new, shared obsessions. The one recipe that truly won over our family? Sourdough bagels.
Hand-Rolled, Family Approved
The boys are obsessed, and honestly, so are we! As soon as they were old enough, they became my chief “Bagel Bros,” helping in the kitchen: poking holes, rolling dough, sprinkling toppings, and their personal favorite, devouring the warm results. Every bagel we make is hand-rolled with family love.
When we moved to Ericeira, I started bringing my homemade sourdough bagels to brunches and lunches with the other mamas in town. The response was overwhelming! Everyone kept telling me I had to sell them. They were so delicious, and there was no proper bagel shop in town.
So here we are! With my wonderful boys (and one more cooking in the oven!), I’m taking the leap and starting this little business. Bagel Bros was born out of our home kitchen to share our favorite family treat with this wonderful community in Ericeira.
Small Batch, Big Dreams
For now, we’re creating these delicious, chewy sourdough bagels and homemade smears to make your weekend breakfasts and lunches a little more fun.
Our dream is to one day grow into a little Bagel Bros shop of our own. But for now, we bake in small batches with lots of love—and limited capacity. Bagels are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so get your order in early!
